Annual Day of School, 21st December 2012

On the occasion of Annual Day of School & Day Care Centre at Hriday Kunj, children of School & Day Care Centre performed a variety of cultural programmes. All the children participated with full enthusiasm. Our President Mrs. Manju Misra, Vice Presidents, Governing Body Members, and other Executive Members were also present during the function. Gifts were distributed among the children during the celebrations.

Diwali Dinner, 10th November, 2012

C.P.W.D. officers’ Wives Association organized a get-together and Diwali dinner at Hriday Kunj. President Mrs. Manju Misra, Vice Presidents, executive members, patron and retired members were present.
On this occasion retired D.G., C.P.W.D. Mr. O.P. Goel initiated & announced a Satya Goel Memorial Award for 3 children of Class C & D employees of C.P.W.D. from all over India. The criteria for selection for the award was made on the basis of 12th standard marks and merit. Each child was given a cheque of Rs.15,000/-. This year 3 children were selected and awarded. The 3 children are:

  1. Simran Sahni daughter of Harvinder Kaur U.D.C. Vidyut Bhawan.
  2. Vishal Vashney son of Anita Vashney U.D.C. - P.W.D. (ITO).
  3. R.M. Saraswati son of B.R. Meenakshi, Central Circle 1 Bangalore.

The spirit of Diwali was celebrated with befitting cultural programme and Tambola followed by contributory dinner.

Farewell & Welcome, 5th November, 2012

Officers’ wives Association organized a General Body Meeting on Monday, the 5th Nov 2012, at Hriday Kunj to bid farewell to the outgoing President Mrs. Sarita Mittal and express our gratitude for her supportive leadership and guiding us in making the activities of the Association more vibrant & meaningful.
On this occasion the Association welcomed our new President Mrs. Manju Misra.

Art & Craft Competition, 30th October, 2012

An art and craft competition was held for children of 7 creches running under Bal Basera on the occasion of Children’s Day. Children from all crèches participated and were awarded for their efforts.
President Smt. Sarita Mittal, Vice President and all executive members along with patron and retired members were present.
In the Craft event, Jayanti from Paryavaran Bhawan won the first prize. Archana from Mandoli Unit V won the 2nd and Menka from R.K.Purum crèche won the 3rd prize.
In the art competition, Rinko from Gol-Dakhana was awarded the 1st prize. Khushboo from Dev Nagar and Chandni from Mandoli Unit V won the 2nd & 3rd prizes respectively.
In clay making competition Khushboo from Mandoli Unit V won the first prize. Madhuri from Mandoli unit V won the 2nd prize and Rinki from R.K.Purum won the 3rd prize.
Every child was also given a utility gift item.

Health Talk Show, 14th September, 2012

C.P.W.D. Officers’ Wives Association organised Super Specialised Health talk on Bone Care, Thyroid and Stress Management. Eminent specialists in these fields gave a very useful talk on this occasion Dr. Yaduraj, Director of Central Health Education Bureau spoke on general health care for women. Dr. Reeta Dhar gave a talk on Bone Care. Dr. Indu Garewal spoke on thyroid problem. Dr. Shailaja Saxena gave an interesting lecture on Stress Management. The members of the Association benefited from these useful lectures and also availed the facility of free bone density test organized at the venue.

Teachers’ Day Celebration, 5th September, 2012

C.P.W.D. Officers’ Wives Association organised Teachers Day Celebration at Hariday Kunj, New Delhi, President Smt. Sarita Mittal, Vice Presidents, patrons, retired members and other office bearers were present. President Smt. Sarita Mittal presented gifts to nine teachers and two supervisors of Creches and School for their sincere hard work and dedication toward the children of School and Creches. Tree Plantation, 1st September, 2012

C.P.W.D. Officers’ Wives Association organised a Tree Palntation Programme at General Pool Office Complex at I.N.A., New Delhi. President Smt. Sarital Mittal, Vice Presidents, patrons, retired members and executive members took part in tree plantation. It was a great effort of the Association to save mother earth from increasing environmental threat.

Independence Day Celebration, 13th & 14th August, 2012

C.P.W.D. Offices’ Wives Association celebrated Independence Day in its different creches and School & Day care centre at Hriday Kunj. President Smt. Sarita Mittal hoisted the National Flag along with Vice Presidents and other patrons & retired members. On this occasion children participated in different cultural activities like songs, dances, drama etc. It was a great achievement for teachers who cultivated overall development of children & made them aware of their National Festival. Sweets, fruits and gifts were distributed among the children.

Teej Celebration, 19th July 2012

C.P.W.D. Officers’ Wives Association celebrated Teej Festival at Hriday Kunj. On this occasion our distinguished patrons & retired members, President Smt. Sarita Mittal, Vice Presidents, office bearers and other members of the Association were present. Songs, dances and fashion show were presented by the executive members. Churiwala and Mehndiwala added joy and colours to the festival. Celebrations were followed by contributory lunch.

Wednesday 11th July 2012

On the eve of CPWD Day the C.P.W.D. Officers’ Wives Association organised a gala Cultural Evening in Mavalankar Hall followed by a contributory dinner in Constitution Club. Smt. Maneka Gandhi, hon’ble Member of Parliament and former Minister graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Mrs. Sarita Krishna Wife of Shri Sudhir Krishna Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development was the Guest of Honour. C.P.W.D. families participated in this function in large number. Children of Adarsh Janta Andh Vidyalaya and Noida Deaf Society kept the crowd in houseful Mavalankar spell bound by their stunning performance.
